    Eligibility

    Admission Requirements

IELTS Academic: Typically 5.5+ for undergraduate and 6.0+ for Master’s entry; programme conditions may be higher
TOEFL iBT: Typically 69+ for undergraduate and 79+ for Master’s entry
PTE Academic: No single university-wide minimum is published
Duolingo English Test: No single university-wide minimum is published

Undergraduate Entry for Bangladeshi Applicants: A recognised HSC, Alim or equivalent upper-secondary qualification is normally required and assessed against the selected programme. METU does not publish one fixed Bangladesh percentage. All applicants complete an online admission interview, and selected business programmes include an online Mathematics test.

Graduate Programmes: A recognised Bachelor's degree and complete transcript are required. The degree field and completed credits must support the chosen Master's; applicants without sufficient related study may be offered a Pre-Master programme. Individual courses may require a motivation letter, interview, work evidence or other supporting material.

Research / PhD Programmes: METU's current international portfolio does not list a doctoral programme. Applicants seeking PhD study should not rely on doctoral availability unless a new programme is officially published.

Entrance Interview & Tests: The online interview assesses English communication, motivation and programme suitability. Business applicants may sit a Mathematics test, while art applicants submit a detailed portfolio and programme-specific creative materials.

Work Experience: Not a general requirement. It applies to selected programmes, including the MBA, where the current course conditions require relevant professional experience.

Application Documents: Applicants normally provide a passport copy, academic certificates and transcripts, certified English or Hungarian translations where needed, English evidence, and any required CV, motivation letter, employment certificate, Mathematics test or art portfolio.

Application Portal & Fees: Self-financed applications are submitted through METU’s DreamApply portal. The University currently states a non-refundable €200 registration fee for applicants from Bangladesh before document checking. The latest non-EU Bachelor’s tuition starts at €3,500 per semester and Master’s tuition at €3,600 per semester; art programmes can reach €4,990 per semester.

    Calendar

    Application Deadlines

Fall – Bangladeshi / Non-EU Applicants: The official deadline is generally 30 June. A late submission should not be assumed to remain available for visa-required applicants.

Spring Entry: Selected non-art programmes may offer a spring start. METU has not published one general self-financed deadline for this intake; Bangladeshi applicants should apply ASAP once an eligible programme opens in the portal.

Art Programmes: English-taught art programmes are launched only in the Fall semester. Portfolio preparation should begin well before the next published application deadline.

Future Intakes: Deadlines are published by intake, nationality and visa status. Applicants should follow the live programme listing, allow time for interview and fee payment, and retain sufficient time for the Hungarian study residence process.
