    Overview

    About International Business School (IBS)

International Business School (IBS) is a state-recognised private higher education institution founded in Budapest in 1991. From its origins as one of Central Europe's early private business colleges, it has developed into an internationally focused school where students study in English within a collaborative, career-conscious academic environment.

IBS is distinguished by small interactive seminars, applied assessment and skills development rather than traditional large-scale lectures. Its Budapest campus in Graphisoft Park places students beside the Danube and within an active technology and business district. Depending on the programme, graduates may receive IBS qualifications together with British degrees from The University of Buckingham, while selected pathway programmes provide opportunities linked to Dublin Business School and other international partners.

For International Business School (IBS), UnivEase provides Global Admission Counselling with structured support from programme selection to final offer acceptance. Our service includes Bangladesh-specific academic, age and study-gap review, document preparation, English and interview guidance, application coordination, tuition planning and post-offer planning. Admission, scholarship, residence permit and visa decisions remain solely with the relevant institutions and authorities.

    Eligibility

    Admission Requirements

    IELTS: Bachelor's 6.0 overall · Master's 6.5 overall
    TOEFL iBT: Bachelor's 72 · Master's 95
    PTE Academic: Bachelor's 50 · Master's 58
    Duolingo English Test: Bachelor's 105 · Master's 120

Undergraduate Entry for Bangladeshi Applicants: A recognised HSC, Alim or other secondary qualification may be assessed as an international school-leaving certificate. IBS publishes a minimum overall average of 50% for high-school leaving qualifications, subject to individual review, certified English translation and the selected programme's conditions.

Graduate Programmes for Bangladeshi Applicants: A first- or second-class Bachelor's degree in any academic field is accepted for the conversion-style MSc programmes. Applicants must also provide English evidence or a permitted medium-of-instruction document and complete the compulsory online Orientation Interview.

Research / PhD Programmes: A first- or second-class upper-division Master's degree is normally required, together with a detailed research plan and one academic referee's report. Progression depends on academic review, the online research interview and availability of suitable supervision.

Age & Study Gap: Under current IBS immigration-related rules, BSc applicants must be under 28 and MSc applicants under 35, with a maximum study gap of five years. Minimum entry ages also apply to Bachelor's and Foundation students.

Work Experience / Tests: GMAT and GRE are not general requirements. The MBA requires three to five years of relevant work experience, a CV, work references, a motivation letter and prior study in mathematics or finance.

Application Documents: Applicants normally upload a passport, academic certificate and transcript, certified English translations, English certificate or accepted medium-of-instruction evidence, and any programme-specific CV, reference, motivation or research documents. Originals must be presented at enrolment.

Application Portal & Fees: Applications are submitted through the IBS online portal and become valid after the non-refundable EUR 200 application fee is paid. For September, Budapest BSc tuition is generally EUR 4,000 per semester; non-EU students pay EUR 9,200 before visa support, covering one year's tuition and the EUR 1,200 registration fee. Most MSc and MBA programmes cost EUR 12,800 in total plus the EUR 1,200 non-EU registration fee.

    Calendar

    Application Deadlines

September - Bachelor's / Master's / MBA / Foundation: The deadline is generally 31 May. Bangladeshi applicants should not rely on late admission because tuition and visa steps require sufficient lead time.

February 2027 Intake: The 2026/27 calendar confirms new-student enrolment from 11-30 January 2027, compulsory orientation on 10-12 February and classes from 15 February. IBS has not yet published a general application deadline for this intake.

Doctoral Entry: The September PhD deadline is generally 15 April. Applicants for the next cycle should begin research-plan and supervisor preparation before the new deadline is announced.

Visa-Required Planning: Apply ASAP once the intended intake is open. IBS issues visa-support certificates after the required tuition payment, while the applicant remains responsible for securing the Hungarian residence-permit appointment and submitting the complete immigration file.
