Dublin City University (DCU) is a modern public research university in north Dublin, known for combining academic quality with practical learning, innovation, and strong engagement with employers. Eligibility

Admission Requirements

IELTS Academic: 6.5 overall, with no band below 6.0

TOEFL iBT: 92 overall; TOEFL Home Edition is not accepted

PTE Academic: 63 overall, with no section below 59

Duolingo English Test: 120 overall, with at least 110 in each subscore

Graduate Programmes: A relevant Bachelor’s degree is normally required, commonly at Second Class Honours Grade 2 (2:2) or equivalent. Some programmes require a 2:1, a specific academic background, or professional experience.

Undergraduate Entry for Bangladeshi Applicants: HSC or Intermediate applicants normally require DCU’s International Foundation Programme before progressing to a Bachelor’s degree. Programme-specific subject requirements also apply.

Research / PhD Programmes: A relevant honours degree or equivalent qualification is normally required, together with a suitable supervisor and research pre-application. Work Experience: Programme-dependent; required or preferred for selected professional, management, and executive programmes.

GMAT / GRE: Not a general DCU requirement; submit only where the individual programme specifically requests it.

Personal Statement & References: Commonly required for postgraduate applications, together with a CV, passport copy, semester wise transcripts, English evidence, and any programme-specific documents.

Application Portal & Fees: International applicants apply through the DCU Student Application Portal. A non-refundable €50 application fee applies. Published 2026/27 full-time non-EU tuition is programme-dependent and starts from approximately €16,800 per year.

Application Deadlines

Postgraduate Taught – September: Applications are usually assessed on a rolling basis until places are filled. The general non-EU deadline is 1 July 2026, although some programmes may close earlier.

Postgraduate Taught – January: Available for selected programmes only. Deadlines are course-specific, with several January 2027 programmes closing on 4 December 2026 for non-EU applicants.

Undergraduate / Foundation Entry: Bangladeshi HSC or Intermediate applicants should follow the International Foundation Programme timeline. Direct-entry non-EU applicants generally apply by 1 July.

Research / PhD: No single university-wide deadline applies. Applicants should begin early, subject to supervisor availability, School approval, and the required pre-application process.
