    Overview

About Satakunta University of Applied Sciences

Satakunta University of Applied Sciences (SAMK) is a multidisciplinary university of applied sciences on Finland’s west coast, built around the needs of working life and the long-term development of the Satakunta region. Its education is practical by design, combining academic foundations with projects, professional training and applied problem-solving so students learn how knowledge is used in real organisations and industries.

SAMK brings together business and management, technology and maritime studies, well-being and fine arts within an international higher education community. Close cooperation with hundreds of companies and organisations, extensive practical training, modern learning environments and six research centres connect study with areas such as artificial intelligence, robotics, maritime logistics, health technology and industrial renewal. For international students, the strongest English-taught study environments are centred in Pori and Rauma.

For Satakunta University of Applied Sciences, UnivEase provides Global Admission Counselling from programme selection to final offer acceptance and post-offer planning. For Bangladeshi students, support can include qualification and selection-route review, document preparation, Studyinfo application guidance, tuition and scholarship planning. Admission and scholarship decisions remain authority-controlled.

Graduate Programmes: A suitable Bachelor’s or other eligible higher-education degree is required. UAS Master’s admission also requires at least two years of relevant work experience gained after completing the qualifying degree; programme-specific field criteria apply.

Undergraduate Entry for Bangladeshi Applicants: HSC, Alim or another foreign upper-secondary qualification can provide general eligibility if it grants access to higher education in Bangladesh. Bangladeshi qualifications are not part of Finland’s standard certificate-based selection group, so applicants commonly compete through the International UAS Exam, SAT or a SAMK separate selection route. SAMK currently requires separate proof of English from all applicants unless another specifically accepted method applies.

Research / PhD Programmes: SAMK does not award doctoral degrees. Its degree portfolio consists of Bachelor’s and UAS Master’s programmes supported by extensive applied research, development and innovation activity.

Work Experience: UAS Master’s admission normally requires at least 24 months of relevant post-degree work experience; the relevant field and evidence requirements are programme-specific.

GMAT / GRE: Not a general SAMK requirement. Current published Master’s routes use programme-specific selection methods rather than a university-wide GMAT/GRE requirement.

Application Documents: Common documents include passport, eligible qualification certificates, transcripts, official translations where required, English evidence and route-specific selection documents. Master’s applicants must also provide acceptable work-experience evidence.

Application Portal & Fees: Applications are submitted through Studyinfo. Bangladeshi applicants normally pay Finland’s statutory €100 application fee unless exempt. Current annual non-EU tuition is €9,500 for most English-taught Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes and €10,500 for selected engineering programmes; first-year tuition is paid in one instalment after admission.
