    School-Leaving Requirement (Main)

    • Applicants need an upper-secondary qualification giving access to higher education in the awarding country, or an eligible higher-education degree.
    • Submit the required educational certificates; documents not in Finnish, Swedish or English need an authorised translation.

    General eligibility does not guarantee admission; English, selection-method and document requirements must also be met.

    Standardized Test Requirement

    Joint Application selection uses the International UAS Exam, certificate-based selection or SAT. SAT requires at least 400 in Evidence-Based Reading and Writing and 400 in Math, minimum total 800; scores must reach SAMK directly using code 7516. The parallel SAMK Separate Application is certificate-based.

    Notes

    • SAMK accepts IELTS Academic 6.0 band, PTE Academic 55 and TOEFL iBT 60 for tests before 21 January 2026, or 3.5 for tests on or after that date. No separate IELTS minimum per band is published.
    • Other accepted evidence includes Cambridge 169, TELC B2, Oxford ELLT 6.0, YKI English Grade 4 and specified English-medium qualifications. SAT-only Joint Application applicants do not need separate English proof.
    Waiver: Only through SAMK’s published alternatives; SAT-only Joint Application applicants are exempt from separate English proof.

    Funding

    Scholarships

    Eligible new fee-paying Bachelor’s students can receive a EUR 1,500 first-year Early Bird discount by accepting and paying by the deadline in the admission email. Later scholarships include up to 50% of the paid fee for strong study progress, Finnish-language awards of EUR 1,500 or EUR 3,000, and a EUR 200–500 Student Ambassador award.

    • Apply ASAP. For January, Joint and SAMK Separate applications run 31 August–10 September.
    • For Bangladesh-issued HSC/Alim, the Joint Application offers the clearer route through the International UAS Exam or SAT. The Separate Application is certificate-based and subject to Studyinfo criteria.
