    Overview

    About Galway Business School

Galway Business School (GBS) is an independent higher education provider based at GCI House in Salthill, a coastal district of Galway city. Welcoming Irish, European and international learners since 2000, the school offers a focused alternative to a large university setting, with small classes, accessible lecturers, and a learning environment built around individual progress.

Its portfolio centres on business education, including QQI-validated undergraduate awards, professional and short certificate study, and international foundation and pre-master’s pathways. Teaching combines lectures, workshops, group projects, presentations, case studies, and applied assignments, supported by Moodle, library resources, academic guidance, careers workshops, and the linked English-language expertise of Galway Cultural Institute on the same campus.

For Galway Business School (GBS), UnivEase provides Global Admission Counselling with structured support from programme selection to final offer acceptance. Our service includes Bangladesh-specific eligibility review, document preparation guidance, application coordination, and post-offer planning. Admission, progression, funding, and Irish study visa decisions remain with the relevant authorities.

    Eligibility

    Admission Requirements

IELTS Academic: 6.0 for standard business degree entry; Level 8 top-up entry normally requires 6.5
PTE Academic: 59 is published as equivalent to IELTS 6.0
TOEIC: 700–720 is published as equivalent to IELTS 6.0
Other Approved Tests: TOEFL, Cambridge and Duolingo may be accepted at the programme-equivalent standard

Undergraduate Degree Entry: A secondary-school qualification equivalent to the Irish Leaving Certificate is required, normally with at least five passes at O6/H7 level or equivalent. Advanced or top-up entry requires the appropriate prior NFQ-equivalent award.

Bangladesh Qualification Guidance: GBS does not publish a fixed HSC, Alim, diploma, or CGPA threshold. Academic level, subjects, grades, awarding body, and programme fit are assessed individually; a foundation pathway may be considered where direct entry is not appropriate.

Pathway Entry: The University Foundation Programme is non-award preparation for undergraduate study and normally requires IELTS 5.5 overall with no band below 5.0. The Pre-Master’s pathway requires a recognised Bachelor’s degree and IELTS 6.0.

Work Experience / RPEL: Prior education and relevant experience may be assessed under the school’s recognition of prior learning policies, particularly for mature or non-standard applicants.

GMAT / GRE: Not a general requirement for the current GBS programme portfolio.

Application Documents: Completed application, passport, certified academic records, English evidence, a personal statement of up to 500 words, and two recommendations; additional or translated documents may be requested.

Application & Fees: Non-EU applicants apply directly through the GBS portal or Admissions team. Published 2026/27 international totals are €9,000–€9,500 per year for degree study and €8,500 for the Foundation or Pre-Master’s pathway, including the stated €250 academic fee. Visa-required students pay through TransferMate escrow.

    Calendar

    Application Deadlines

September Intake: The visa-required application, document, and payment deadline is 1 July.

January Intake: Offered occasionally and subject to timetable, class-size, and management confirmation. Where available, visa-required applications, documents, and payment should be completed by 31 October.

Decision & Visa Planning: GBS states that complete applications are normally reviewed promptly, but Bangladeshi applicants should allow at least eight weeks for Irish visa processing after receiving the required admission and payment documents.

Payment & Visa Refusal: Tuition is payable in advance. The published visa-refusal policy permits a refund except for the €300 deposit, provided no false or inaccurate documentation was submitted; the applicant’s current offer and terms remain controlling.
