    University of Limerick (UL) is a public research university set on a 330-acre riverside campus in Castletroy, approximately 5 km from Limerick city.     Admission Requirements

    IELTS Academic: 6.5 overall, with no band below 6.0
    TOEFL iBT: 90 overall
    PTE Academic: 61 overall, with no band below 59
    Duolingo English Test: 120 overall, with at least 110 in each band

    Graduate Programmes: A relevant first- or second-class honours Bachelor’s degree at NFQ Level 8, or a recognised international equivalent, is normally required. Individual programmes may specify a 2:1 standard, a particular subject background, an interview, or professional experience.

    Undergraduate Entry for Bangladeshi Applicants: UL does not publish a fixed HSC or Alim equivalence on its current website. Direct entry or pathway consideration is assessed individually against the selected programme, academic subjects, grades, qualification level, and English evidence.

    Research / PhD Programmes: A relevant honours qualification is normally required, together with a suitable research proposal and the programme’s supervisor or departmental approval process.

    Work Experience: Programme-dependent; required or preferred for selected professional, management, healthcare, and executive programmes.

    GMAT / GRE: Not a general UL requirement; submit only where the chosen programme specifically requests it.

    Personal Statement & References: Commonly required for postgraduate applications, together with a CV, passport copy, complete semester-wise transcripts, English evidence, certified translations where needed, and any programme-specific documents.

    Application Portal & Fees: International applicants apply online through the relevant UL programme page. A €50 application fee applies. Published non-EU undergraduate tuition starts at €17,500 per year; taught postgraduate fees are programme-specific and listed separately for each course.

    Application Deadlines

    Postgraduate Taught – September: Applications are usually assessed on a rolling basis until places are filled. The general non-EU deadline is 1 July.

    Selected Spring Starts: Available only for listed programmes. Visa-required timelines are programme-specific, so Bangladeshi applicants should apply ASAP and allow sufficient time for admission, fee payment, and Irish study visa preparation.

    Undergraduate Entry: International full-degree applications for September closes in early July. Applicants should follow the relevant programme page and begin well before the published closing date.

    Research / PhD: No single university-wide deadline applies. Applicants should begin early, subject to supervisor availability, research assessment, and faculty approval.
