About Atlantic Technological University

Atlantic Technological University (ATU) Letterkenny is the principal campus of ATU Donegal and part of Ireland’s public technological university system. Created in 2022 through the merger of GMIT, IT Sligo and Letterkenny IT, ATU combines established regional expertise across the west and north-west. Letterkenny retains a practical, student-centred identity while giving learners access to the resources of a large multi-campus university.

Study areas include business, computing, engineering and construction, design and creative media, law and public service, science, nursing, health and social disciplines. Programmes emphasise applied learning through laboratories, projects, employer engagement and placement where provided. Admission Requirements

IELTS Academic – Undergraduate: 5.5 overall, with no band below 5.0

IELTS Academic – Postgraduate: 6.0 overall, with no band below 5.5

TOEFL iBT: Commonly 69+ for undergraduate and 79+ for postgraduate entry

Graduate Programmes: A relevant honours Bachelor’s degree equivalent to Irish NFQ Level 8 is normally required, commonly at 2:2 standard. Selected courses require a 2:1, particular subjects, a portfolio or experience.

Undergraduate Entry for Bangladeshi Applicants: HSC, Alim or equivalent qualifications are assessed individually against course entry and subject requirements. ATU does not publish one fixed Bangladesh GPA for every programme.

Research / PhD Programmes: A relevant honours or Master’s qualification, research proposal and School or supervisor approval are normally required. Funded calls set separate conditions.

Work Experience: Course-dependent; required or preferred only for selected professional and postgraduate programmes.

GMAT / GRE: Not a general ATU requirement; submit only when a programme specifically requests it.

Application Documents: Passport, certificates, complete transcripts, certified translations where required, English evidence and any requested CV, statement, references or portfolio.
