    Bachelor’s Requirement (Main)

    • A primary honours degree at NFQ Level 8 with at least Second Class Honours Grade 1 (2:1)
    • Graduates from section 2 university must have 70% and above and Graduates from Section 3 university must have 75% and above in Relevant Bachelors degree.
    • The degree must be in biological sciences, medicine or pharmaceutical sciences

    Places are limited. Admission requires approval by the MRes coordinator, programme team and Head of the School of Biochemistry and Cell Biology.

    • The programme combines a major research project and dissertation with 20 credits of taught modules, orientation, research seminars and skills development in planning, integrity, communication and laboratory practice.
    • Selection is competitive and includes an interview. Applicants should provide qualification documents and transcripts, a focused personal statement, two academic referees and any requested research or supplementary documents.
    • The 2027/28 non-EU total is €20,070: €15,000 tuition, €5,000 bench fee and €70 research capitation. Bangladeshi applicants should also allow sufficient time for offer acceptance, financial preparation and the Irish study visa process.
