Academic Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree Requirement (Main)
- A completed Bachelor’s degree or equivalent comparable to a Danish Bachelor’s degree in level and duration, normally 180 ECTS, is required.
- The degree must include at least 80 ECTS in one specified technical/scientific field; dissertation projects and internships cannot count toward the 80 ECTS.

Limited intake applies. Qualified applicants are ranked by degree grades, relevant engineering/design grades and relevant experience in the CV.
Tests
Standardized Test Requirement
No GRE, GMAT or SAT is required. Ranking gives equal weight to degree grades, relevant engineering/design grades and relevant experience; the CV is limited to one page / 2,400 characters including spaces.

Notes
- AU requires English comparable to Danish English B. IELTS Academic: 6.5 band overall with at least 6.0 band in each band. TOEFL iBT: 83 overall/20 per band before 21 January 2026, or 4.5 overall/4.0 per band for later results.
- Cambridge C2, C1 and B2 First are accepted at AU’s stated scores. PTE Academic and Duolingo are not accepted. IELTS/TOEFL results must be no more than two years old when the portal opens.

Scholarships
Eligible fee-paying non-EU applicants are automatically considered for limited Danish State Scholarships. For Aarhus BSS, the typical award is a tuition fee waiver plus monthly living grant. Awards are highly competitive and require no separate application.
