    Eligibility

    Academic Requirements

    Bachelor’s Degree Requirement (Main)

    • Applicants need a completed Bachelor’s degree or equivalent comparable in level and duration to a Danish Bachelor’s degree, normally corresponding to 180 ECTS.
    • The qualifying degree must include 20 ECTS Mathematics, 30 ECTS Computer Technology and 10 ECTS in an approved advanced computer-engineering field.

    Note

The programme has limited intake. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission; AU ranks qualified applicants using degree grades, grades in relevant subjects and additional relevant ECTS.

    Tests

    Standardized Test Requirement

No GRE, GMAT, SAT or other standardized admission test is published for the full-time MSc. Assessment is based on the qualifying degree, required subject content and Aarhus University’s fixed ranking criteria.

    Notes

    • Aarhus University requires English comparable to Danish upper-secondary English B. IELTS Academic requires 6.5 band overall with at least 6.0 band in each band. TOEFL iBT requires 83 overall and 20 per band for results before 21 January 2026, or 4.5 overall and 4.0 per band for results from that date.
    • Accepted Cambridge routes include C2 Proficiency, C1 Advanced and B2 First at AU’s stated score/grade levels. AU does not accept PTE Academic or Duolingo. IELTS and TOEFL results must be no more than two years old when the application portal opens.
    Waiver: Not Available.

    Funding

    Scholarships

Tuition-fee-paying non-EU applicants are automatically considered for Aarhus University’s limited Danish State Scholarships. For the Faculty of Technical Sciences, the award is a 100% tuition fee waiver without a monthly living grant. Selection is highly competitive, based on academic merit, and no separate scholarship application is required.
