UK Standard Visitor Visa - Business Visit from Bangladesh

Standard Visitor visa for permitted business activities in the United Kingdom, normally for up to 6 months.

    Last Updated: 30 August 2026

The UK Standard Visitor Visa allows Bangladeshi nationals and eligible residents to visit the United Kingdom for permitted business activities, such as meetings, conferences, seminars, interviews, contract negotiations, trade fairs, site visits and certain activities connected to overseas employment. A business visit normally allows a stay of up to 6 months.

Applicants must remain genuine visitors and must not take UK employment or carry out work outside the permitted Visitor activities. The business purpose, UK host or event, overseas employment and funding arrangements should be consistent and credible. Regular business visitors may apply for 2, 5 or 10-year Standard Visitor validity, but each visit is still limited to a maximum of 6 months.

    Document Checklist

    1. Passport / Travel Document: Valid passport or other travel document covering the intended stay in the UK. UKVI recommends providing a full copy of the passport, including pages showing previous travel and any official observations or amendments.
    2. Previous Passport(s) & Travel History: Copies of previous passport(s), visas and relevant entry/exit records to support the applicant's travel history and ensure consistency with the information declared in the application.
    3. GOV.UK Online Application & Checklist: Complete the Standard Visitor visa application online through GOV.UK, pay the applicable fee and follow the document checklist and identity instructions generated for the individual application.
    4. Cover Letter: Applicant's signed letter explaining the business purpose, intended travel dates, UK host or event, planned activities, accommodation and trip funding. The information should remain consistent with the online form and supporting evidence.
    5. UK Business Invitation / Event Confirmation: Invitation or confirmation from the UK company, organisation, conference or event organiser explaining the applicant's business purpose, relevant dates, activities and host contact details. For a conference or business event, UKVI specifically recommends an organiser invitation letter.
    6. Flight Reservation: Provisional flight itinerary/reservation showing travel dates, route, and flight details, consistent with the planned schedule. Payment is not necessarily required at this stage.
    7. Hotel Reservation / Accommodation Booking: Booking confirmation covering intended stay dates, showing applicant name, accommodation name/address, check-in/out dates, and booking reference; consistent with itinerary.
    8. Proof of Occupation: Documents confirming your current professional status and ties to your home country, such as employment certificates, leave approval, pay slips, salary statements, or business-related documents (e.g., Trade License, Incorporation Certificate, MOA, Form XII, IRC/ERC). These should be recent, consistent with your application, and clearly demonstrate your ongoing occupation and intent to return after your visit.
    9. Employer / Company Supporting Letter: Letter from the overseas employer or company confirming the applicant's role, salary or business status, length of employment, approved business travel, purpose of the UK visit and expected return to the overseas role. For intra-corporate visits, the letter should confirm the UK activity and, where clients are involved, that client work is not the main purpose of the visit.
    10. Business/Company Bank Statements & Solvency Certificate: Original bank statements for the last 6 months for business/company accounts, issued by the bank and showing the bank name and contact details. Statements must be stamped and signed by an authorized bank officer (e-statements not accepted), and accompanied by a bank solvency/financial standing certificate where required.
    11. Company TIN & ITR: Copy of the employer/company TIN certificate and copies of the company Income Tax Return (ITR) for the last 3 tax years, along with the acknowledgement receipts.
    12. Personal Bank Statements & Solvency Certificate: Original bank statements (personal and/or salary account) for the last 6 months, issued by the bank and showing the bank name and contact details. Statements must be stamped and signed by an authorized bank officer (e-statements not accepted), and accompanied by a bank solvency/financial standing certificate where required.
    13. Personal TIN & ITR: Copy of the personal TIN certificate and Income Tax Return (ITR) for the last 3 tax years, along with the acknowledgement receipts.
    14. Proof of Legal Residence in Bangladesh (where applicable): Applicants who are not Bangladeshi nationals should provide evidence of lawful residence in Bangladesh.
    15. Civil Status Documents: Marriage certificate, divorce certificate, death certificate, birth certificate, or family-related documents where applicable, especially when travelling with spouse or children.
    16. Minor Applicant Documents: For applicants under 18, provide birth certificate, parental consent, parent/legal guardian identification, proof of economic means of parents/legal guardian, and custody or guardianship documents where applicable.

    Process Roadmap

    Step 1

Confirm the Business Activity Is Permitted

Check that the proposed meetings, conference, negotiations, trade fair, site visit or other activity is permitted under the Standard Visitor rules and does not amount to UK employment.

    Step 2

    Apply Online through GOV.UK

Complete the Standard Visitor application and pay £135 for up to 6 months, or the applicable long-term fee for 2, 5 or 10 years. You can normally apply up to 3 months before travel.

    Step 3

    Align the Business Evidence

Prepare the UK invitation or event confirmation and the overseas employer/company letter so the purpose, dates, activities, funding and applicant role are consistent.

    Step 4

    Upload Supporting Documents

Upload the relevant passport, business, occupation, financial, sponsorship and translation evidence according to the application instructions.

    Step 5

Book & Attend the VFS Appointment

After online application, follow the GOV.UK/VFS instructions, book and attend the selected UK Visa Application Centre in Bangladesh and provide fingerprints and a photograph where required.

    Step 6

    UKVI Reviews the Business Visit

UKVI assesses the genuine-visitor requirement and whether the proposed activities are permitted, and may request further evidence or verification.

    Step 7

    Check the Decision & eVisa

If approved, follow the decision instructions, access the UKVI account, check the eVisa and permission details, and ensure the current passport is linked before travel.
