UK Seasonal Worker Visa from Bangladesh

Temporary sponsored work visa for eligible seasonal horticulture or poultry production work in the United Kingdom.

    Last Updated: 30 August 2026

The UK Seasonal Worker Visa is a temporary work category for Bangladeshi nationals and eligible residents aged 18 or over who have seasonal work through an approved UK scheme operator. It covers horticulture work for up to 6 months and poultry production work from 2 October to 31 December in the same year. Poultry applications must be submitted by 15 November, while horticulture applications can be made throughout the year when sponsored work is available.

Applicants need a valid Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) and must meet the maintenance and other route requirements. The route is limited to the sponsored seasonal role, does not permit dependants and does not lead to settlement. For horticulture, permission is limited to a maximum of 6 months in any 10-month period, and an applicant must not have been in the UK as a Seasonal Worker during the 4 months immediately before the CoS start date. Applications are made online through GOV.UK, followed by the required identity and biometric process, usually through VFS Global in Bangladesh.

    Document Checklist

    1. Passport / Travel Document: Valid passport or other travel document covering the intended stay in the UK. UKVI recommends providing a full copy of the passport, including pages showing previous travel and any official observations or amendments.
    2. Previous Passport(s) & Travel History: Copies of previous passport(s), visas and relevant entry/exit records to support the applicant's travel history and ensure consistency with the information declared in the application.
    3. Cover Letter: Applicant's signed letter, where used, explaining the temporary seasonal work purpose, sponsor, CoS details, intended work dates, maintenance arrangements and relevant immigration history. The information should remain consistent with the online form and supporting evidence.
    4. Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS): Valid CoS reference issued by an approved Seasonal Worker scheme operator. Check that the sponsored sector, job, salary, work dates and personal details are accurate and consistent with the application.
    5. Seasonal Work / Placement Evidence: Job or placement confirmation from the approved scheme operator where available, showing the horticulture or poultry role, work location, expected dates, duties, pay and working arrangements consistently with the CoS.
    6. Financial Maintenance Evidence: Evidence of at least £1,270 held for 28 consecutive days, with day 28 within 31 days before application, unless the CoS confirms that the sponsor will maintain and accommodate the applicant up to the permitted amount.
    7. Previous Seasonal Worker Evidence: Copies of previous UK Seasonal Worker permission and relevant entry/exit records to help demonstrate compliance with the current period-outside-the-UK and maximum-stay rules.
    8. Proof of Legal Residence in Bangladesh (where applicable): Applicants who are not Bangladeshi nationals should provide evidence of lawful residence in Bangladesh.
    9. Accommodation / Arrival Evidence (where available): Scheme-operator or employer information about initial accommodation, arrival arrangements or worksite placement where provided. These details should remain consistent with the CoS and the planned period of seasonal work.
