UK Child Student Visa from Bangladesh

Child Student visa for children aged 4 to 17 studying at an eligible independent school in the United Kingdom.

    Last Updated: 30 August 2026

The UK Child Student Visa is for children aged 4 to 17 who have an unconditional offer to study at an independent school that is licensed to sponsor Child Students. The applicant needs a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) and must have suitable living and care arrangements in the UK.

Parents or legal guardians must consent to the visa application, travel, study and care arrangements, and the required course fees and living costs must be covered according to where the child will live. Applications from Bangladesh are made online through GOV.UK and normally include biometric enrolment through a VFS Global UK Visa Application Centre. The permitted stay depends on the child’s age and course length, and successful applicants receive an eVisa.

    Document Checklist

    1. Passport / Travel Document: Valid passport or other travel document covering the intended stay in the UK. UKVI recommends providing a full copy of the passport, including pages showing previous travel and any official observations or amendments.
    2. Previous Passport(s) & Travel History: Copies of previous passport(s), visas and relevant entry/exit records to support the applicant's travel history and ensure consistency with the information declared in the application.
    3. GOV.UK Online Application & Checklist: Complete the Child Student visa application online through GOV.UK, pay the applicable visa fee and Immigration Health Surcharge, and follow the document checklist and identity instructions generated for the individual application.
    4. Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS): CAS reference issued by the licensed Child Student sponsor confirming the unconditional school place and relevant course details. The visa application must normally be made within 6 months of receiving the CAS.
    5. Parental / Legal Guardian Consent: Written consent from both parents, or one parent with sole responsibility, or the legal guardian, confirming consent to the visa application, travel to the UK, study, and the child’s living and care arrangements.
    6. Proof of Relationship to Parent / Legal Guardian: Birth certificate or other government-issued evidence showing the child’s relationship to the parent or legal guardian, together with relevant identification and sole-responsibility or guardianship evidence where applicable.
    7. Accommodation & Care Arrangements: Evidence of where the child will live in the UK and who will care for them. Where applicable, include the required letter from a foster carer, close relative or nominated guardian and details consistent with the CAS and parental consent.
    8. Financial Evidence: Evidence covering the required course fees and living or boarding costs for the applicable living arrangement. Where funds must be evidenced, they normally need to be held for at least 28 consecutive days, with the period ending within 31 days before the visa application.
    9. School / Academic Supporting Evidence: Evidence of qualifications or other school admission documents used to obtain the course place where required by the education provider or listed on the CAS.
    10. TB Test Certificate: Home Office-approved tuberculosis certificate where the UK TB rules apply. For many applicants residing in Bangladesh and coming to the UK for more than 6 months, this is required.
    11. Financial Sponsor Consent (where applicable): Written consent to the visa application if an official financial sponsor has paid course fees or living costs within the previous 12 months and the rules require sponsor consent.
    12. Proof of Legal Residence in Bangladesh (where applicable): Applicants who are not Bangladeshi nationals should provide evidence of lawful residence in Bangladesh.
    13. Parent / Guardian Financial & Identity Evidence: Where the application relies on parent or guardian funds, provide the relevant financial evidence together with documents linking the funds and the responsible adult to the child.
