South Africa TRV General Work Visa from Bangladesh
Trusted Employer Scheme pathway for eligible foreign professionals who qualify for a South Africa General Work Visa.

Document Checklist
- Passport (Original): Original passport valid for at least 30 days after the intended date of departure from South Africa, with at least two unused/blank visa pages. Submit the current passport together with the required copies.
- Previous Passport(s) & Travel History: Full clear copies of previous passports, including relevant visa and immigration pages, where available. Travel history should be disclosed consistently with the application and supporting records.
- Photograph (South Africa Visa Format): Provide 2 recent colour passport photographs, 35mm x 45mm, taken within the last 30 days against a plain white background and meeting the current South Africa VFS photo specifications.
- Trusted Employer Scheme Admission Proof: Official proof that the South African employer is admitted to TES, including the applicable Department of Home Affairs admission or confirmation letter.
- TES Online Application Form: Complete the prescribed TES application online. The handwritten forms are not accepted by the Department of Home Affairs.
- South African Employment Offer / Contract: A valid offer of employment or employment contract signed by both employer and applicant, stating the position, duties, remuneration, conditions and intended employment period.
- Points-Based Eligibility Evidence: Evidence demonstrating the required total of 100 points under the current General Work Visa points system. The General Work outcome applies where the threshold is reached through a combination other than an occupation on the Critical Skills List.
- Qualification Evidence: Academic or professional qualification records supporting any qualification points claimed. Current scoring gives 50 points for NQF levels 9-10 and 30 points for NQF levels 7-8.
- Work Experience Evidence: CV and credible employment or experience records supporting the work-experience points claimed. Current scoring gives 20 points for 5-10 years and 30 points for 10 or more years.
- Remuneration Evidence: The employment offer and supporting salary records should substantiate any remuneration points claimed. Current scoring gives 50 points above R976,194 gross per annum and 20 points from R650,976 to R976,194.
- Employer Records / CIPC Evidence: Full particulars of the South African employer, including physical and contact details and, where applicable, proof of business registration with the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC).
- Employer Deportation & Passport Undertakings: Written undertakings accepting responsibility for applicable deportation costs and confirming that the employee’s passport will remain valid throughout the employment period.
- Employer Compliance & Employment-Change Undertakings: Written undertakings to notify the Director-General of non-compliance, termination of employment, or any change in the employee’s approved capacity or role.
- Trusted Employer Skills Confirmation: Written undertaking by the Trusted Employer confirming that the applicant is suitably skilled and has the experience and qualifications required for the position offered.
- Police Clearance Certificate: Provide police clearance certificates from countries where the applicant resided for more than 12 months during the 5 years preceding the application. The certificate should meet the current validity requirements at the time of submission.
- Proof of Legal Residence in Bangladesh (where applicable): Applicants who are not Bangladeshi nationals should provide evidence of lawful residence in Bangladesh.
Process Roadmap
Step 1
Verify Trusted Employer Status
Confirm that the South African employer is formally admitted to TES and can provide the required Department of Home Affairs admission evidence.
Step 2
Map the 100-Point General Work Position
Calculate the applicant’s points from qualifications, salary, experience, Trusted Employer status and language proficiency, and confirm that the case belongs under General Work rather than Critical Skills.
Step 3
Complete the TES Online Application
Prepare the prescribed online application and keep the employer, position, remuneration, employment period and personal details consistent with the supporting evidence.
Step 4
Align Employment & Points Evidence
Prepare the signed contract together with the qualification, remuneration, experience and other records needed to substantiate the points claimed.
Step 5
Assemble the Streamlined TES File
Add the employer records, required undertakings, police clearance and remaining supporting documents while applying the current TES document waivers correctly.
Step 6
Lodge through VFS New Delhi
A prior appointment is currently not required. Submit the complete application at VFS New Delhi and pay the applicable visa and VFS charges through the prescribed process.
Step 7
Track the Case & Verify Work Conditions
Follow available VFS updates and, after passport return, check the employer, occupation, validity and endorsed conditions before commencing employment.
