New Zealand Business Visitor Visa from Bangladesh

Business Visitor Visa guidance for eligible short-term business travel to New Zealand, with clear INZ requirements on business purpose, supporting letters, funds and eVisa processing.

    Last Updated: 3 October 2026

The New Zealand Business Visitor Visa is the official temporary visa for Bangladeshi passport holders travelling to New Zealand for eligible short-term business activities. It is intended for genuine business visits such as meetings, exploring business opportunities, buying or selling goods and services, and permitted business consultations or negotiations. The visa allows business visits of up to 3 months in 1 year.

Applicants must show that the proposed activity falls within INZ's permitted business-visitor rules, that the visit is genuine and temporary, and that sufficient funds or acceptable employer, government or sponsor support is available. Applications must be submitted online through INZ’s enhanced Immigration Online system using a RealMe login, and approved visas are issued as eVisas. An original passport is provided only if INZ requests it.

    Document Checklist

    1. Passport / Travel Document: Valid passport or other travel document. For an online application, upload the required passport copy; the passport must be valid for at least 3 months after the date you plan to leave New Zealand. INZ will advise if the original passport is required later.
    2. Previous Passport(s) & Travel History: Copies of previous passport(s), visas and relevant entry/exit records to support the applicant's travel history and ensure consistency with the information declared in the application.
    3. Enhanced Immigration Online Application, Photo & Translations: Complete the Business Visitor Visa application through INZ’s enhanced Immigration Online system using a RealMe login, upload an acceptable visa photo and pay the applicable fee. Provide English translations together with copies of any supporting documents that are not in English.
    4. Cover Letter: Applicant's signed letter explaining the business purpose, intended travel dates, companies or contacts involved, planned meetings or activities, accommodation, trip funding and relevant professional circumstances. The information should remain consistent with the online form and supporting business evidence.
    5. New Zealand Business Invitation Letter: A letter from the New Zealand company or business contact confirming the applicant’s invitation, the specific business purpose of the visit, proposed meeting or activity dates, location, host/company contact details and the nature of the business relationship or proposed dealings. Where relevant, include the meeting agenda, negotiation or consultation details and any supporting correspondence.
    6. Flight Reservation: Provisional flight itinerary/reservation showing travel dates, route, and flight details, consistent with the planned schedule. Payment is not necessarily required at this stage.
    7. Hotel Reservation / Accommodation Booking: Booking confirmation covering intended stay dates, showing applicant name, accommodation name/address, check-in/out dates, and booking reference; consistent with itinerary.
    8. Proof of Occupation: Documents confirming your current professional status and ties to your home country, such as employment certificates, leave approval, pay slips, salary statements, or business-related documents (e.g., Trade License, Incorporation Certificate, MOA, Form XII, IRC/ERC). These should be recent, consistent with your application, and clearly demonstrate your ongoing occupation and intent to return after your visit.
    9. Employer / Business Supporting Letter: A letter from the applicant’s employer or company in Bangladesh confirming the applicant’s current position, employment/business status, purpose of the New Zealand visit, intended travel dates, approved business leave where applicable, and the relevance of the visit to the applicant’s role or organisation. Where the employer/company is funding the trip, the letter should also state the financial support being provided.
    10. Business/Company Bank Statements & Solvency Certificate: Original bank statements for the last 6 months for business/company accounts, issued by the bank and showing the bank name and contact details. Statements must be stamped and signed by an authorized bank officer (e-statements not accepted), and accompanied by a bank solvency/financial standing certificate where required.
    11. Company TIN & ITR: Copy of the employer/company TIN certificate and copies of the company Income Tax Return (ITR) for the last 3 tax years, along with the acknowledgement receipts.
    12. Personal Bank Statements & Solvency Certificate: Original bank statements (personal and/or salary account) for the last 6 months, issued by the bank and showing the bank name and contact details. Statements must be stamped and signed by an authorized bank officer (e-statements not accepted), and accompanied by a bank solvency/financial standing certificate where required.
    13. Personal TIN & ITR: Copy of the personal TIN certificate and Income Tax Return (ITR) for the last 3 tax years, along with the acknowledgement receipts.
    14. Proof of Legal Residence in Bangladesh (where applicable): Applicants who are not Bangladeshi nationals should provide evidence of lawful residence in Bangladesh.
    15. Civil Status Documents: Marriage certificate, divorce certificate, death certificate, birth certificate, or family-related documents where applicable, especially when travelling with spouse or children.
    16. Minor Applicant Documents: For applicants under 18, provide birth certificate, parental consent, parent/legal guardian identification, proof of economic means of parents/legal guardian, and custody or guardianship documents where applicable.

    Process Roadmap

    Step 1

    Confirm an Eligible Business Visit

Check that the proposed activity is an INZ-permitted business visit and that the total business stay will not exceed 3 months in 1 year.

    Step 2

    Prepare the Business Evidence

Prepare the employer and New Zealand company letter, meeting or business evidence, passport copy, photo, funds or financial support, travel plan, home-country circumstances and translations where required.

    Step 3

    Apply through Enhanced Immigration Online

Use INZ’s enhanced Immigration Online system with your RealMe login, complete the Business Visitor Visa application, upload the supporting evidence and pay the applicable fee.

    Step 4

Provide the Passport Only If Requested

For online applications, a passport copy is usually sufficient at first. If INZ later asks for the original, submit it through the VAC or INZ office specified in the instructions.

    Step 5

    INZ Assesses the Application

INZ considers the business purpose, genuine intentions, employment and company evidence, funding and plans to leave, and may request further health, character or supporting information.

    Step 6

    Check the Decision & eVisa

INZ emails you when a decision is made. Check your Immigration Online dashboard using your RealMe login and, if approved, review the eVisa validity, conditions and permitted business stay.
