    Latvia Official Visa from Bangladesh

Schengen short-stay visa for government-authorized missions and official travel to Latvia.

    Last Updated: 30 August 2026

The Latvia Official Visa is a Schengen short-stay visa for Bangladeshi applicants travelling to Latvia as part of an official delegation, government assignment, diplomatic engagement, institutional meeting, or formally authorized mission. It generally permits a stay of up to 90 days within any 180-day period.

This category is appropriate when the journey is supported by competent-authority documents such as a Note Verbale, Government Order, official invitation, delegation letter, or programme confirmation. From Bangladesh, Latvia short-stay applications are lodged through the Sweden Visa Application Centre in Dhaka because Sweden represents Latvia for Schengen visa matters.

    Process Roadmap

    Step 1

    Confirm Official Purpose

Confirm that the journey is connected to an official delegation, government responsibility, diplomatic engagement, institutional programme, or other formally authorized mission in Latvia. For visits not exceeding 90 days, a Schengen short-stay visa (Type C) is generally used.

    Step 2

    Complete the Application Form

Complete the Schengen visa application form carefully. Names, passport particulars, official designation, travel dates, and visit details should correspond with the Note Verbale, Government Order, invitation, and supporting itinerary.

    Step 3

    Arrange Official Authorization Documents

Compile the Note Verbale, Government Order, delegation authorization, Latvian host invitation, programme schedule, meeting confirmation, or other institutional evidence that establishes the official nature and duration of the journey.

    Step 4

    Prepare Travel and Support Evidence

Prepare the passport, photographs, official-purpose statement, travel itinerary, accommodation arrangement, funding or cost-responsibility evidence, relevant civil records, and travel insurance where required. Arrange translations when documents are not accepted in their original language.

    Step 5

Coordinate Submission at Visa Application Centre

Latvia short-stay visa applications from Bangladesh are handled through the Sweden Visa Application Centre in Dhaka. Holders of diplomatic or official passports supported by a proper Note Verbale may be exempt from booking an appointment, subject to current authority instructions.

    Step 6

    Submit Application & Provide Biometrics

Attend the applicable submission process with the passport and organized supporting file. Provide biometric data where required and settle any applicable VFS, optional-service, or related charges under the instructions in force on the submission date.

    Step 7

    Track Application & Verify Visa

Use the VFS tracking facility where available. Once the passport is returned, verify the name, passport number, visa validity, number of entries, and permitted duration of stay before departure.
