    Ireland Study Visa from Bangladesh

    The Ireland Study Visa is a Long Stay D visa for Bangladeshi nationals and eligible residents of Bangladesh planning to study in Ireland for more than 90 days. Applicants should hold an eligible full-time course offer, meet the applicable academic, language, tuition, financial, and insurance requirements, and satisfy Ireland’s conditions for non-EEA students.

    Applications from Bangladesh fall under the New Delhi Visa Office. After completing AVATS, applicants print and sign the summary form and follow its submission instructions. The file may be sent to the Embassy of Ireland in New Delhi by post or lodged by appointment at the Ireland Visa Application Centre in Kolkata. 

    Document Checklist

    1. Passport (Original): Original passport valid for at least 12 months from the proposed date of arrival in Ireland, with sufficient blank space for the visa. Submit the current passport together with the required copies.
    2. Previous Passport(s) & Travel History: Full clear copies of previous passports, including relevant visa and immigration pages, where available. Travel and immigration history should be disclosed consistently with the AVATS application.
    3. Photograph (Ireland Visa Format): Provide 2 recent colour passport photographs that meet Ireland visa photograph requirements. Sign your name and write the AVATS Visa Application Transaction Number on the back of each photograph.
    4. AVATS Application Summary Sheets: Printed AVATS summary sheets completed for the applicant, signed and dated. Keep the Visa Application Transaction Number and submit the summary sheets with the passport and supporting documents.
    5. Financial Summary Form: Completed Financial Summary Form with recent personal and/or sponsor financial evidence. Funding sources and significant lodgements should be clearly evidenced.
    6. Cover Letter: Applicant’s signed letter explaining the study purpose, course choice, intended travel dates, relevant academic or employment progression, funding arrangement, and commitment to follow Irish immigration conditions.
    7. Letter of Acceptance: Official acceptance letter from the Irish education provider confirming enrolment on the full-time course, course details, tuition fees payable and paid, and other required information.
    8. Proof of Tuition Fee Payment: Evidence of tuition payment to the education provider. If course fees are below €6,000, they must be paid in full before applying; if fees exceed €6,000, at least €6,000 must normally be paid before the visa application, unless the provider requires more.
    9. Academic Qualifications & Study Gaps: Academic certificates, transcripts, examination results, and other evidence showing ability to follow the chosen course. Explain any significant gaps in education or employment and any change in study direction with supporting evidence where available.
    10. English Language Evidence: Evidence of sufficient language ability for the chosen course, where required. Submit the relevant test-provider certificate or other accepted evidence in line with current Irish study visa and institution requirements.
    11. Curriculum Vitae (CV): An up-to-date CV outlining the applicant’s academic background, employment history, training, relevant skills, and other significant activities, with dates presented clearly and consistently with the study visa application.
    12. Statement of Purpose (SOP): A clear and well-structured statement explaining the applicant’s academic background, reasons for choosing the course and institution, career objectives, relevance of the proposed study, and plans after completing the programme.
    13. Sponsor / Cost Bearer’s Financial & Income Evidence: Evidence showing the sponsor’s financial capacity and source of income, such as recent bank statements, solvency certificate, income tax records, salary/employment documents, or business ownership and income records, as applicable.
    14. Proof of Legal Residence in Bangladesh (where applicable): Applicants who are not Bangladeshi nationals should provide evidence of lawful residence in Bangladesh. Ireland normally requires the application to be made from the applicant’s home country or country of legal residence.
    15. Police Clearance Certificate (PCC): A valid police clearance certificate issued by the appropriate authority, confirming the applicant’s criminal record status.
    16. Private Medical Insurance: Private medical insurance is required for study in Ireland. If arranged through the college, the Letter of Acceptance should confirm the cover; otherwise provide suitable evidence of insurance for the intended study period. 

    Process Roadmap

    Step 1

    Confirm the Long Stay Study Category

    For study lasting more than 90 days, use “Long Stay (D)” and “Study” in AVATS. Confirm that the course and provider meet the applicable student immigration requirements.

    Step 2

    Complete AVATS & Print the Summary

    Complete AVATS accurately, record the transaction number, then print, sign, and date the application summary sheets.

    Step 3

    Prepare Admission, Academic & Fee Evidence

    Arrange the Letter of Acceptance, tuition-payment evidence, academic records, language evidence, and any study-gap explanation required for the course.

    Step 4

    Prepare Finances, FSF & Insurance

    Complete the Financial Summary Form and organise personal/sponsor funds, supporting bank records, funding explanations, and private medical insurance.

    Step 5

    Follow the Submission Instructions

    Follow the AVATS directions. Bangladesh residents may submit by post to the Embassy of Ireland in New Delhi or by appointment at the Ireland Visa Application Centre in Kolkata.

    Step 6

    Pay the Fee & Submit the File

    Submit the signed AVATS summary, passport, supporting documents, required copies, and applicable visa fee. For direct Embassy submission, arrange the visa fee in advance by bank draft in Indian rupees, made payable to the Embassy of Ireland. For VFS submission, complete the applicable visa and VFS payments through the prescribed VFS process.

    Step 7

    Track the Application & Check the Visa

    Track the application using the relevant application or VFS reference number. After processing, collect the returned passport and check the visa details before travel.
