    Ireland Performance/Tournament Visa from Bangladesh

    Short Stay C visa for performances, sport, cultural events, and competitive tournaments in Ireland.

    The Ireland Performance/Tournament Visa is a Short Stay C visa for Bangladeshi nationals and eligible residents of Bangladesh travelling to Ireland for up to 90 days to stage a performance or take part in a competitive tournament, including sport, music, theatre, dance, chess, or debating. Paid participation may be permitted only when the paid performance or event starts and ends within a single 14-day period and is not repeated under that rule within 90 days; otherwise, a different work-permission process may be required.

    Applications from Bangladesh fall under the New Delhi Visa Office. After completing AVATS, applicants print and sign the summary form and follow its submission instructions. The file may be sent to the Embassy of Ireland in New Delhi by post or lodged by appointment at the Ireland Visa Application Centre in Kolkata. 

    Document Checklist

    1. Passport (Original): Original passport valid for at least 6 months after the intended date of departure from Ireland, with sufficient blank space for the visa. Submit the current passport together with the required copies.
    2. Previous Passport(s) & Travel History: Full clear copies of previous passports, including relevant visa and immigration pages, where available. Travel history should be disclosed consistently with the AVATS application.
    3. Photograph (Ireland Visa Format): Provide 2 recent colour passport photographs that meet Ireland visa photograph requirements. Sign your name and write the AVATS Visa Application Transaction Number on the back of each photograph.
    4. AVATS Application Summary Sheets: Printed AVATS summary sheets completed for the applicant, signed and dated. Keep the Visa Application Transaction Number and submit the summary sheets with the passport and supporting documents.
    5. Cover Letter: Applicant’s signed letter explaining the performance or tournament, organiser, reason for participation, payment status (if any), intended travel dates, accommodation and funding arrangements, and commitment to follow the visa conditions and leave Ireland before the permitted stay expires.
    6. Organiser / Group Sponsorship Letter: Original letter from the event organiser confirming the event, dates and venue, why the applicant has been invited, whether participation is paid, and what costs the organiser will cover. If travelling as part of a club, team, orchestra, theatre group, society, or similar group, include a sponsor letter confirming the applicant’s role and participation. Where payment applies, include the relevant contract; separate organiser evidence is required for each event where applicable.
    7. Flight Reservation: Provisional flight itinerary/reservation showing the intended travel dates, consistent with the application. Applicants should avoid purchasing non-refundable travel tickets before a visa decision. 
    8. Hotel Reservation / Accommodation Booking: Booking confirmation covering the intended stay dates, showing the applicant name, accommodation name/address, check-in/out dates, and booking reference; consistent with the travel plan.
    9. Proof of Occupation: Documents confirming current professional, study, family, business, or property ties to the country of residence. For employed applicants, this commonly includes 3 recent payslips and an employer letter confirming leave and return to work.
    10. Personal Bank Statements & Solvency Certificate: Original bank statements (personal and/or salary account) for the last 6 months, issued by the bank and showing the bank name and contact details. Statements must be stamped and signed by an authorized bank officer (e-statements not accepted), and accompanied by a bank solvency/financial standing certificate where required.
    11. Personal TIN & ITR: Copy of the personal TIN certificate and Income Tax Return (ITR) for the last 3 tax years, along with the acknowledgement receipts.
    12. Proof of Legal Residence in Bangladesh (where applicable): Applicants who are not Bangladeshi nationals should provide evidence of lawful residence in Bangladesh and normally show permission to remain for at least 3 months after the intended departure date from Ireland.
    13. Civil Status Documents: Marriage certificate, divorce certificate, death certificate, birth certificate, or family-related documents where applicable, especially when travelling with spouse or children.
    14. Minor Applicant Documents: For minors, provide birth certificate, parental consent, parent/legal guardian identification, proof of economic means of parents/legal guardian, and custody or guardianship documents where applicable.
    15. Travel / Medical Insurance: Evidence of insurance is not normally required with the initial performance/tournament visa application unless requested by the Visa Officer. If the visa is approved, appropriate travel/medical insurance must be in place before travel and may be requested at the Irish port of entry. 

    Process Roadmap

    Step 1

    Confirm the Performance/Tournament Category

    Use this category for a performance or competitive tournament of up to 90 days. If payment is involved, confirm that the paid activity starts and ends within one continuous 14-day period and is not repeated under this rule within 90 days.

    Step 2

    Complete AVATS & Match the Event Details

    Complete AVATS accurately, select “Short Stay (C)” and “Performance or tournament”, note the Visa Application Transaction Number, and print, sign, and date the summary sheets. Supporting documents should normally be submitted within 30 days of creating the application.

    Step 3

    Secure Organiser & Group Evidence

    Obtain an original organiser letter confirming the event, invitation, payment position, and cost contribution. For team or group participation, add sponsorship evidence showing the applicant’s role, participation history, and connection to the group.

    Step 4

    Prepare Funding, Return & Supporting Evidence

    Provide clear financial evidence, return commitments, accommodation and travel details, required originals/copies, translations, and any previous refusal records, keeping the full application consistent.

    Step 5

    Follow the Bangladesh Submission Route

    Follow the AVATS instructions. Bangladesh residents may submit by post to the Embassy of Ireland in New Delhi or by appointment at the Ireland Visa Application Centre in Kolkata.

    Step 6

    Pay the Fee & Submit the Application

    Submit the signed AVATS summary, passport, supporting documents, required copies, and applicable fees. For Embassy submission, pay by bank draft in Indian rupees; for VFS submission, follow the prescribed online payment process.

    Step 7

    Follow the Decision & Check the Visa

    After processing, check the returned passport and visa details before travel. If taking part in an eligible paid performance or tournament, carry the original contract and request the required permission to work when you arrive at Irish border control.
