Process Roadmap
Step 1
Confirm the Permit-Based Employment Category
Confirm that you hold an eligible DETE Employment Permit for work exceeding 90 days. This Employment Visa page covers standard DETE permit-based cases; Scientific Researcher, Van der Elst, and Atypical Working Scheme cases follow separate arrangements.
Step 2
Complete AVATS & Print the Summary
Complete AVATS accurately using “Long Stay (D)” and “Employment”, enter the permit details requested, then print, sign, and date the summary sheets.
Step 3
Align the Permit & Employment Evidence
Check that the permit, contract, and employer letter consistently show the employer, role, salary, start date, duties, and work location.
Step 4
Prepare Finances & Supporting Records
Provide qualification and work-history evidence, 6-month finances, residence records, civil documents, previous refusal records, translations, and other applicable supporting evidence.
Step 5
Follow the Submission Instructions
Follow the AVATS directions. Bangladesh residents may submit by post to the Embassy of Ireland in New Delhi or by appointment at the Ireland Visa Application Centre in Kolkata.
Step 6
Pay Fees & Submit the File
Submit the signed AVATS summary, passport, supporting documents, required copies, and applicable fees. Embassy submissions require a bank draft in Indian rupees; VFS submissions follow the prescribed VFS payment process.
Step 7
Check the Decision & Prepare for Arrival
If approved, check the visa details, carry the Employment Permit, key job documents, and insurance evidence when travelling, and complete immigration registration after arrival for a stay over 90 days.
