    Ireland Conference/Event Visa from Bangladesh

Short Stay C visa for conferences, symposiums, and professional or academic events in Ireland.

    Last Updated: 30 August 2026

The Ireland Conference/Event Visa is a Short Stay C visa for Bangladeshi nationals and eligible residents of Bangladesh travelling to Ireland for up to 90 days to attend a conference, symposium, congress, seminar, or another recognised event for business or academic reasons.

This category is for genuine event attendance and does not permit paid or unpaid work in Ireland. Applications from Bangladesh are handled under the New Delhi Visa Office. After completing AVATS, applicants should print and sign the summary sheets and follow the submission instructions issued for their application, including the applicable New Delhi or Kolkata submission process.

    Document Checklist

    1. Passport (Original): Original passport valid for at least 6 months after the intended date of departure from Ireland, with sufficient blank space for the visa. Submit the current passport together with the required copies.
    2. Previous Passport(s) & Travel History: Full clear copies of previous passports, including relevant visa and immigration pages, where available. Travel history should be disclosed consistently with the AVATS application.
    3. Photograph (Ireland Visa Format): Provide 2 recent colour passport photographs that meet Ireland visa photograph requirements. Sign your name and write the AVATS Visa Application Transaction Number on the back of each photograph.
    4. AVATS Application Summary Sheets: Printed AVATS summary sheets completed for the applicant, signed and dated. Keep the Visa Application Transaction Number and submit the summary sheets with the passport and supporting documents.
    5. Cover Letter: Applicant’s signed letter explaining the conference or event purpose, intended travel dates, accommodation and funding plan, estimated trip costs, and commitment to follow the visa conditions and leave Ireland before the permitted stay expires.
    6. Conference / Event Organiser Letter: Original letter on official headed paper describing the event and organiser, confirming the applicant is officially registered to attend, confirming registration fees are fully paid where relevant, and stating whether the organiser will cover all, some, or none of the applicant’s travel, accommodation, or living costs.
    7. Employer / Sponsoring Organisation Letter (where applicable): Letter on official headed paper confirming the applicant’s role, why attendance is relevant, the event dates, approved leave and expected return to work, and whether the employer or sponsor will pay all, some, or none of the visit costs. Any sponsorship should be consistent with the organiser letter and financial evidence.
    8. Flight Reservation: Provisional flight itinerary/reservation showing the intended travel dates, consistent with the application. Applicants should avoid purchasing non-refundable travel tickets before a visa decision.
    9. Hotel Reservation / Accommodation Booking: Booking confirmation covering the intended stay dates, showing the applicant name, accommodation name/address, check-in/out dates, and booking reference; consistent with the travel plan.
    10. Proof of Occupation: Documents confirming current professional, study, family, business, or property ties to the country of residence. For employed applicants, this commonly includes 3 recent payslips and an employer letter confirming leave and return to work.
    11. Personal Bank Statements & Solvency Certificate: Original bank statements (personal and/or salary account) for the last 6 months, issued by the bank and showing the bank name and contact details. Statements must be stamped and signed by an authorized bank officer (e-statements not accepted), and accompanied by a bank solvency/financial standing certificate where required.
    12. Personal TIN & ITR: Copy of the personal TIN certificate and Income Tax Return (ITR) for the last 3 tax years, along with the acknowledgement receipts.
    13. Proof of Legal Residence in Bangladesh (where applicable): Applicants who are not Bangladeshi nationals should provide evidence of lawful residence in Bangladesh and normally show permission to remain for at least 3 months after the intended departure date from Ireland.
    14. Civil Status Documents: Marriage certificate, divorce certificate, death certificate, birth certificate, or family-related documents where applicable, especially when travelling with spouse or children.
    15. Travel / Medical Insurance: Evidence of insurance is not normally required with the initial Conference/Event visa application unless requested by the Visa Officer. If the visa is approved, appropriate travel/medical insurance should be in place for the journey and may be requested at the Irish port of entry.

    Process Roadmap

    Step 1

    Confirm the Conference/Event Category

For attendance at a conference, symposium, congress, seminar, or similar event for up to 90 days, select “Short Stay (C)” in AVATS and choose “Conference/Event” as the reason for travel. This category does not permit paid or unpaid work.

    Step 2

Complete AVATS & Secure the Summary

Complete AVATS accurately, keep the Visa Application Transaction Number, then print, sign, and date the summary sheets. Supporting documents should normally reach the application office within 30 days of creating the AVATS application.

    Step 3

    Obtain Verifiable Event Evidence

Collect the organiser’s invitation letter confirming the event, your registration, applicable registration-fee status, dates, and any contribution toward your costs. If attending more than one event, obtain separate evidence for each organiser.

    Step 4

Align Funding, Employment & Return Ties

Make sure the applicant, employer, sponsor, and organiser documents clearly agree on who will pay for travel, accommodation, and living expenses. Add personal finances and evidence of professional, family, social, or economic obligations requiring your return after the event.

    Step 5

    Follow the Bangladesh Submission Route

Use the submission instructions generated through AVATS. Bangladesh residents may be directed to send the file to the Embassy of Ireland in New Delhi by post or lodge it by appointment at the Ireland Visa Application Centre in Kolkata.

    Step 6

Complete Payment & Lodge the File

Submit the signed AVATS summary, passport, conference-specific evidence, supporting documents, and proof of the applicable visa-fee payment. For direct Embassy submission, arrange the visa fee in advance by bank draft in Indian rupees, made payable to the Embassy of Ireland. For VFS submission, complete the applicable visa and VFS payments through the prescribed VFS process.

    Step 7

Follow the Decision & Check the Visa

Follow available updates using the relevant application or VFS reference number. After processing, collect the returned passport and check the visa details before travel.
