Process Roadmap
Step 1
Check Airport Transit Requirement
Confirm whether the journey involves only passing through the international transit area of an Icelandic airport. Bangladeshi nationals generally require an airport transit visa for Iceland unless an official exemption applies.
Step 2
Complete the Application Form
Prepare the Schengen visa application form carefully, keeping the information consistent with the passport, flight route, final destination documents, and supporting papers.
Step 3
Organize Transit Evidence
Arrange the onward ticket, final destination visa or entry permission, airline booking details, and any route explanation needed to show that Iceland is only a transit point.
Step 4
Prepare Applicant Documents
Collect the passport, photographs, cover letter, occupation proof, financial documents, minor documents where applicable, and any exemption evidence if relevant. Translate documents where required.
Step 5
Book Appointment at Visa Application Centre
Book a submission appointment at the Sweden Visa Application Centre in Dhaka, which currently receives Iceland short-stay Schengen applications. Keep the confirmation and prepare all papers in A4 format.
Step 6
Submit Application & Provide Biometrics
Attend the appointment in person to submit the application file and passport, provide biometric information, and complete the applicable visa, VFS, and selected service payments.
Step 7
Track Application & Verify Passport
Track the application through VFS using the reference number. After a decision is made, collect the passport or receive it by courier if selected, and check the visa details before travel.
Common Rejection Pitfalls
Transit route actually requires Schengen entry
How UnivEase helps
We review the flight route, baggage arrangement, airport connection, and onward journey to identify whether airport transit or another Schengen visa category is more appropriate.
Final destination permission is missing or unclear
How UnivEase helps
We check whether the final country requires a visa, residence permit, entry approval, or other permission, and help organize that evidence properly in the file.
Onward travel evidence does not prove a clear transit plan
How UnivEase helps
We review flight reservations, booking references, connection time, airline details, and route explanation so the purpose of airport transit is easy to understand.
Incomplete documents or unclear exemption
How UnivEase helps
We review exemption evidence where relevant and cross-check the application form, passport, travel history, occupation proof, financial records, and minor documents before submission.
