Document Checklist
- Passport (Original): Original passport valid for at least 3 months beyond the intended return/departure date, with at least 2 blank pages.
- Previous Passport(s) & Visa Copies: Copies of previous passport(s), recent passport bio page, and previously issued visas/stamps to support travel history, where available.
- Photograph (ICAO Format): Provide 2-4 recent colour passport photographs with a plain white background, 60%-70% face coverage, no eyeglasses, no head/ear coverings unless worn for religious reasons, and no borders. Photos must be ICAO-compliant.
- Schengen Visa Application Form (Offline): Printed Schengen visa application form completed for each applicant; signed and dated. For minors, the form must be signed by parent/legal guardian. The purpose of journey should reflect the official nature of the visit where applicable.
- Cover Letter: Applicant’s signed letter addressed to the Visa Officer/Visa Office explaining the official visit, intended travel dates, delegation role, funding or cost responsibility, and key supporting documents.
- Note Verbale: Official note issued by the competent authority or relevant government office on official letterhead, confirming the applicant’s service status, purpose of travel, intended travel dates/duration, official role, and return to duty after the visit. It should be signed and stamped where applicable.
- Government Order (GO): Official Government Order issued by the competent authority, stating the applicant’s name, designation, destination, purpose of visit, travel dates/duration, and approval for international travel, where applicable.
- Official Invitation / Programme Evidence: Invitation, meeting confirmation, programme schedule, event registration, conference letter, or institutional communication from the host authority or organization in Finland showing the purpose, dates, venue, and host contact details.
- Flight Reservation / Travel Itinerary: Provisional or confirmed travel itinerary showing travel dates, route, reservation number, and arrival/departure details. If the trip includes transit or onward travel, provide the relevant visa or entry permission where applicable.
- Accommodation / Official Arrangement: Hotel booking, official accommodation confirmation, host arrangement, or authority letter confirming where the applicant will stay during the official visit.
- Proof of Financial Means: Documents showing how the visit will be funded, such as personal financial records, official sponsorship, government/department support letter, or confirmation from the host authority where costs are covered by the inviting side.
- Personal Bank Statements & Solvency Certificate: Original bank statements (personal and/or salary account) for the last 6 months, issued by the bank and showing the bank name and contact details. Statements must be stamped and signed by an authorized bank officer (e-statements not accepted), and accompanied by a bank solvency/financial standing certificate where required.
- Personal TIN & ITR: Copy of the personal TIN certificate and Income Tax Return (ITR) for the last 3 tax years, along with the acknowledgement receipts.
- Civil Status Documents: Marriage certificate, divorce certificate, death certificate, birth certificate, or family-related documents where applicable, especially when travelling with spouse or children.
- Travel Health Insurance: Travel medical insurance covering the full duration of stay, valid across the Schengen area, with minimum medical coverage of EUR 30,000. Diplomatic passport holders may be exempt from the insurance requirement under official rules.

Step 1

Confirm that the trip is linked to an official delegation, government duty, diplomatic or institutional meeting, or formal mission to Finland. For stays up to 90 days, the Schengen short-stay visa (Type C) is generally used.

Coordinate Submission at Visa Application Centre
Finland short-stay applications from Bangladesh are submitted through the Sweden Visa Application Centre in Dhaka. Holders of diplomatic or official passports with a proper Note Verbale may be exempt from appointment scheduling.
Step 6
Submit Application & Provide Biometrics
Attend the submission process with the application file and passport, provide biometric information where required, and complete any applicable VFS, optional, or service-related payments.
Step 7
Track Application & Verify Visa
Track the application through VFS where applicable. After a decision, collect the passport or receive it by courier if selected, and check all visa details carefully before travel.
